This course will aim to improve your groundstrokes by introducing a more advanced swing that allows you to hit with more spin, and become more consistent by applying forehand/backhand fundamenals. We will also cover an introduction to net play by learning how/when to hit approach shots and volleys. We will introduce a more challenging serve motion to hit flat and spin serves more consistently.
Put all these skills together in the final week as we help you to understand how to play doubles/singles more confidently.
You can book either Saturday / Sunday / Full weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
Saturday:
Forehands and Backhands – Full overview of advanced technique is covered and reinforced through a variety of shadow, feeding and partner hitting drills.
Serve – Advanced Technique covering Flat, Slice and Topspin serces is overviewed with players progressed according to their appropriate level of development.
Sunday:
Forehand and Backhand – Recap of shot production. Fun competitive rallying, drills and games.
Volley – Full overview of core technique. Different approaches for high, medium & low volley technique taught.
Serve – Recap and progression appropriate to level of development
Gameplay, Scoring & Strategy – Players are given the chance to put their new technique into practice with players grouped together according to ability for fun games and matches with feedback from coaches on specific singles/doubles positioning and strategy.
Please note: If you would like to become a FREE British Tennis member with our club you can do so as part of your registration for this course. Benefits include entry into the Wimbledon ticket ballot and being able to compete using a British Tennis rating (optional).
