Clapham | Barn Elms Sports Centre
Join in this spring for our Spring League Season. Two new leagues will begin at Barn Elms alongside the already well established Clapham Doubles Leagues. Take up the challenge and get involved in fun competitive tennis this year!

Adult Competition Section

There are a variety of competitive opportunities that you can choose from with Lifetime Tennis, with sessions including fun weekly social tennis, competitive internal team leagues and finally the very competitive inter-club Surrey LTA Leagues.

The oldest of our leagues, the original and many in Clapham will of course say the best.

The Set-up: 4 teams of on average 6 players make up the League. However only 2 player from each team compete each week meaning that for those who have quite hectic weekend schedules you don’t have to commit to being there every weekend.

Scoring: Two regular sets are played with a Champions Tie Break played if tied at 1 set all.

Fun: The emphasis while quite competitive is on having fun and continuing to improve. The Clapham gang are also a social bunch and like to enjoy themselves off the court as well as on so plenty of social banter is always available.

Day/Time: Saturday, 11am-12:30pm

Season length: 6-8 weeks

Match fees: £8/match played payable to your captain

How to get involved:

The Sunday Social has become a very popular matchplay session with over 20 people playing even in the winter! There is always a good mixture of levels and our coach is on hand to get everyone set up at the start of the session.

The Team Set-up: Turn up 5 minutes before the start of the session. We start with a half hour warm up during which time the coach organises the groups matches for the day. Then it is game on and you play in up to 3 sets of fun doubles.

Scoring: Each round, 1 set is played with no Advantage scoring to make sure other courts are not waiting around for marathon matches to finish before they can start the next round.

Fun: The emphasis while quite competitive is on having fun and continuing to improve. The Barn Elms gang are also a social bunch and like to enjoy themselves off the court as well as on so plenty of social get togethers at the Red Lion often also occur.

Day/Time: Sundays, 1pm-3pm

Season length: We Play Every Week!

Match fees: £7 cash/week paid to the coach on arrival

How to get involved: You can join our ‘Play Tennis London’ meetup group to let us know you will be attending and join in with some of the banter. Otherwise just turn up on a Sunday at Barn Elms.
